Michelle's Race for Animals!

Dear friends and family,

Once again, I am training to run a race for animals with the PETA Pack team in an effort to raise money to end cruelty.

If you know me, you know that since I was a young child, I have had a strong love and respect for animals. As I learned about the mistreatment of animals that goes on every day in our society behind closed doors, I was driven by compassion to do whatever I could to help to end the cruelty. At 8 years old I went vegetarian. At 15 I started my first animal rights group. In college I founded the Case Animal Rights & Ethics Society. At 20 I went vegan. Almost four years ago I started working for PETA, the largest animal rights organization in the world. And today I am challenging myself once again to run a race for animals who never get the chance to run and experience freedom.

All the money I raise will go directly to PETA's Investigations & Rescue Fund, which ensures a rapid and effective response to hundreds of cruelty-to-animals calls each week, helps provide neglected "backyard dogs" with sturdy doghouses, and enables undercover investigators to expose the hidden cruelty behind the closed doors of slaughterhouses, circuses, and more.

Animals have no voice to ask for help. They are often taken from their mothers as babies to endure a lifetime of abuse or pain in circuses, laboratories, or puppy mills or on factory farms or fur farms. That's why this year I'm asking friends to help be their voice. Making a donation to the this page is a way to speak out against violence and support kindness to animals - and to give me the best gift I could ask for!

Thank you so much!

Much Love,

Michelle :)

PS. This year, I am dedicating my run to Alexander Hugard (see his PETA memorial: http://bit.ly/Nydqx6) and Dave Curtis, who both left this world far too soon. Dave and Alex, I'm running for you! I'll never forget you <3
