Team training to stop animal abuse

All my life I've been passionate about animals. I can't think of a better way to honor my love of animals than running with the Peta Pack & raising money & awareness to stop animal abuse. While I enjoy surfing and other athletics, I'm not a runner. This will require training and commitment on my part but I know I can do it with the love & support of my fellow animal lovers. I'm also running in honor of my dear departed diggity Crystal (video tibute posted here), as well as some very special animals I've had the privilege to know over the years - Spider, Spunky, Splinter, Conan, Huck, Sandy, Toby, Redbone, Prince, Spenser, Tracker, Jake, Streak, Rusty, Sam, Be-B, Dixie, Trixie, Clarisse, Churchill, Star, Dickens, Oski, Bubba & Bogus.

Thanks so much for your time & consideration...Jamie

For The Love of Nature
I love being outside. Whether it's surfing, hiking, biking, walking the dog etc, nothing makes me feel so alive as being outdoors. This experience is heightened when in a somewhat desolate uncrowded space. This is why I get so much enjoyment from hiking with a dog alone or surfing alone. I can recall hiking and really feeling the sun on my skin & getting goose bumps when a slight breeze blew. I wasn't cold, I was experiencing pleasure. Hearing our footsteps, smelling the trees & flowers and feeling the different temperatures on my skin all gave me shivers of pleasure. Same with surfing. Early morning paddle outs to an empty lineup are amazing. The water can be silky smooth like melted butter, the reflections surreal and the sound of the displacement of water as you patiently wait for a wave music to my ears. In the moment it is so pleasurable you just have to smile. Then the sun blankets you with it's warm glowing rays. Exquisite! For those who haven't experienced this go. Go alone. Focus on the sensations in the moment. Drink deeply. It's amazing!
