Team training to stop animal abuse

All my life I've been passionate about animals. I can't think of a better way to honor my love of animals than running with the Peta Pack & raising money & awareness to stop animal abuse. While I enjoy surfing and other athletics, I'm not a runner. This will require training and commitment on my part but I know I can do it with the love & support of my fellow animal lovers. I'm also running in honor of my dear departed diggity Crystal (video tibute posted here), as well as some very special animals I've had the privilege to know over the years - Spider, Spunky, Splinter, Conan, Huck, Sandy, Toby, Redbone, Prince, Spenser, Tracker, Jake, Streak, Rusty, Sam, Be-B, Dixie, Trixie, Clarisse, Churchill, Star, Dickens, Oski, Bubba & Bogus.

Thanks so much for your time & consideration...Jamie

A Journey of a Thousand Miles Begins With a Single Step
Tota. Sweet little Tota is a monkey who lives in a small cage in a campground a couple hours south of the border in Santo Tomas, Baja Mexico. I'm not sure how long she's been there but we've seen her on our travels for at least 8 years. My heart breaks for her. We always visit and take her fruit and she slips her tail out of the enclosure and let's me pet her. Whenever I scratch her tail she hugs herself tightly and presses her body against the cage. She wants to be touched so badly. I always comment to my husband that I'm going to save this monkey. I've even spent some time researching sanctuaries, etc. I really don't know the circumstances of her being there...I need to find out.
Here's a link to a video of a recent visit with Tota.
