I'm training for PETAPACK which is a PETA sponsered race to help raise awareness and funds to end animal abuse and suffering. My original goal was to raise $500 by October 13th; I hit that goal within 3 weeks of registering and then hit my revised goal of $600 the following day! So, my newest revised goal is now $1200! I started off by making a $35 donation and I have received gifts starting from $15 all the way to $150, so as you can see the donations can be as small or as large as you feel comfortable. This is something that is important to me so I would love anyone's help who can give it, but please understand there is no pressure as I know everyone has their own causes they like to support. Also, please let me know if anyone would like to join me; you can run, bike or walk the race for whichever distance you choose (in any city) so don't feel shy if youre not an athlete! If you'd like to donate, any amount is appretiated -- thank you so much to everyone who has already donated!
"People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) is the largest animal rights organization in the world. PETA focuses its attention on the four areas in which the largest numbers of animals suffer the most intensely for the longest periods of time: on factory farms, in laboratories, in the fashion industry, and in the entertainment industry. Although PETA does work in all these areas, all funds raised by the 2013 PETA Pack team will go directly to our Investigations & Rescue Fund. That means the money you raise can help purchase a sturdy doghouse for a neglected "backyard" dog who has no shelter, help rescue an animal from an abusive situation, support our undercover investigators who are working to expose cruel conditions behind closed doors, and many other such things that benefit animals!"
