Did you know that nearly all cows in the dairy industry are born with tissue that will develop into horns? These horns are rarely seen because farmers destroy this tissue on young calves or the horns themselves once they start to develop. Practices include burning young calves with hot irons to sear away the tissue and gouging horns out of calves' skulls.
